Blending just about every influence imaginable in his music, Lay-Far is a widely appreciated talent. Recently, compliments from the likes of Giles Peterson (“Great producer, great DJ”) and MixMag Russia, who said that Lay-Far is “one of the most in-demand Russian producers and DJ’s internationally at the moment” have been flowing his way. ‘Sirius Rising’ is taken from his latest release, War Is Over. It takes on ambient aspects through its luscious, string-like accompaniments, jazzy inflections through the electric keyboard which provides a lot of the middle section’s syncopated melody, and even aspects of glitch, as the intensity builds towards the end of the piece. -Dan Peeke
